The Honorable Eduard Heger
The Honorable Eduard Heger, Slovak politician, father of 4 children, a passionate runner and cold-water swimmer. Before entering politics, he worked on high-level management positions in the private sector.
In 2020, he became the Minister of Finance and later, the Prime Minister of Slovakia. He lead Slovakia through the period of pandemics, energy crisis and double-digit inflation. He prepared one of the best Recovery and Resilience Plan within EU focused on reforms and investments in the medical field, education, innovations, digitalization, or environment.
Under his leadership, the Slovak government immediately condemned Russian aggression towards Ukraine and helped its eastern neighbor. He introduced the plan for assigning the candidate status to Ukraine for entering EU. He was one of the first European leaders to travel to Kyiv to rally support for Ukraine following the Russian invasion.
In the position of the Prime Minister, he gained a lot of experience as well as good contacts and special personal relationships with European leaders.
