Ambassador Yogesh Gupta

Ambassador (retd.) Yogesh Gupta was born 12 August, 1950. He has a M.Sc. Botany, where he was Gold Medallist, First Class First from RajasthanUniversity, Jaipur.
AJoined Indian Foreign Service in 1976.

He Held senior diplomatic assignments in Indian Missions in Brazil, Pakistan, United Nations (New York), Nigeria. He has held Ambassadorial posts in Italy, Zambia, Maldives, Denmark.

At the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi, he held senior assignments dealing with South East Asia, Multilateral Economic Relations, Coordination, Parliament and other work. In addition, he represented India at UN Administrative Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions, Joint Staff Pension Board.

Since retiring from the Indian Foreign Service, Ambassador Gupta has been researching and Writing on Foreign Affairs issues relating to China, Pakistan, the USA, India and Gulf issues. He has written more than 100 articles in Indian and Foreign newspapers and journals. He is also a mentor at the National Defence College, New Delhi.

Ambassador Gupta is regularly asked to be interviewed for TV programs on foreign affairs issues on Indian and Foreign TV channels. He is a Life Member of Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence and Analytical Studies, New Delhi.
