Vice Amiral (Ret’d) Patrick Chevallereau

In 2015-2018, Vice Admiral Patrick Chevallereau was the Defence Attaché of France to the United Kingdom. He had a leading role in managing the defence bilateral relations between the two countries and served as the senior defence advisor to the French Ambassador to the UK.

Before his posting in London, Patrick Chevallereau served as Head of the Euro-Atlantic Division at France’s Joint HQ, working as the senior advisor to the French Chief of Defence for policy on NATO, EU and bilateral defence relations with over fifty countries in the Euro-Atlantic sphere.

Patrick Chevallereau has a background in working with officials across the French administration. Serving as the Deputy Secretary General for the Sea between 2011-2013, he helped to manage inter-ministerial coordination and to drive policy development for France’s maritime strategy as well as maritime crisis management in the second-largest exclusive economic zone (EEZ) worldwide.

He also served in various positions at NATO’s Allied Command Transformation in the U.S. including as Executive Assistant to NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Transformation.

As a naval aviation pilot and aircraft captain, he participated in multiple joint operations in the Mediterranean, Africa and the Balkans.
